3D Laser Cutting - Complex Titanium Part

Our 5-Axis Lasers are primed and ready to tackle anything that comes their way.

Below is a video highlighting steep climbs, dramatic geometry, and Beam Director rotations over the peak of a complex titanium aerospace part with precision accuracy (±0.002).

Thick Steel Tube Laser Cut - Not Normal to Part SFC

A common question that arises from customers is if we are capable of cutting a chamfer, or cutting not normal to the part surface. As you'll see in the video above with one of our lasers cutting a 0.250+" steel tube at a 35 degree angle, the answer is.... YES we can!

Extended Nozzle Laser Cut Inconel / Little Clearance

Something that gives us an extra edge is the ability to add different optics and nozzles to our machines so we can laser cut in areas that are often thought impossible, with 5-axis precision (±0.002") and speed.

Below is a video of one of our YAG 5-Axis lasers fitted with an extended 6" nozzle, machining a complex 0.02" thick Inconel 718 part with nitrogen assist gas, highlighting some tight areas and cuts that can even be made not normal to the part surface.

Tight Clearance 3D Laser Cutting

Here is a look at one of our CO2 Laserdyne 890 machines getting into a few tight areas with little clearance on a 0.025" thick Inconel 718 aerospace part.

The video below highlights the C and D Axis rotation working together to navigate a complex surface to perform a precision cut!

Laser Cut Hole - 0.400" Thick Inconel

Our YAG Laserdyne 780 5-axis laser machines are extremely versatile when it comes to cutting material with different thicknesses. Whether it be 0.01" titanium, or as is the case with the video below, cutting an 0.062" hole through 0.400" inconel. (The video is in Slow Motion)

We have the experience, capability, and equipment to get whatever you need laser machined completed!

Laser Cutting CFS STUD

One of our most versatile machining platforms is our two Laserdyne 890 CO2 Lasers. They are able to handle very large parts with 96" of travel in the X-Axis, 72" of travel in the Y-Axis, and 36" of travel in the Z axis. While we rarely need more travel than that, we can even handle larger parts than the axis limitations listed above.

The video below demonstrates one of our Laserdyne 890's cutting an unconventionally long part, made of 0.030" Galvanized Steel. (A CFS Stud used in construction. We are cutting openings for inserts.)

Laser Cutting a Sphere / Laser Cutting metal not normal to the surface.

While our CNC Lasers are fully capable of 5-axis cutting, sometimes you only need 3-axis to get a job done!

Here is a video of one of our YAG lasers performing a simple 3-axis cutting operation, demonstrating versatility and speed, even with the cutting nozzle not normal to the part surface.

Carving a Pumpkin with a 5 axis laser

Versatility is something that sets us apart... we can even laser cut pumpkins!

Happy Halloween from all of us at Rentiel.

Laser cutting wood / Plywood tooling

Rapid prototyping is something we pride ourselves on at Rentiel. Just one of the many ways we can accomplish this is through the use of lumber tooling.

Below is a video of a simple 3-axis cutting operation on our CO2 Laser, with 0.700" thick plywood.

This allows us to begin work on processing urgent jobs almost immediately, while more permanent and conventional tooling can be developed simultaneously and without the usual pressure and urgent time constraints.

5-Axis CNC Laser Cutter / Titanium

The bulk of the work we perform here at Rentiel is currently sourced from the aerospace industry, which comes with very tight tolerances, extremely specific cutting requirements, and fast turn around times, necessitating perfection on all fronts.

Thankfully, with our experience, capacity, and equipment, we have the ability to shine under these conditions!

Below is a close up video of one of our YAG lasers running a small portion of a 5-Axis laser cutting operation on a 0.060” thick titanium aerospace part.

CNC Laser / Custom Metal Sign

A local company reached out and asked if we could cut out a few custom signs for them. We almost exclusively do aerospace work, so it ended up being a fun change of pace! The signs were cut out of 0.06" stainless steel on one of our CO2 Lasers.

Below is a video demonstrating the processes we performed, from start to finish!

Fusion 3 3D Printer / Printing Tooling

3D Printing has revolutionized so many industries and products, and has come such a long way in the relatively short time it’s been available.

Here at Rentiel, it allows us to rapidly develop laser fixtures, tooling, inspection fixtures. and countless other things that aid us in delivering our skilled services and machining, on time.

Laser Cutting Metal Sphere

5-Axis Laser cutting of a Stainless Steel sphere.

When lasers are brought up in manufacturing and production, most people aren’t aware of the capabilities of 5-Axis Lasers, and commonly bring to mind the limited and narrow scope of flat pattern machines and cutters.

Below is a time lapse video that demonstrates just one example of the endless potential we have at Rentiel to develop, process, and machine complex parts on our lasers. Be sure to watch until the end to see the completed part.

Sphere cut 3D laser capabilities

This part is an example of our 3D laser capabilities. We have 6 Laserdyne Systems, all 5-axis machines that accomplish multi axis laser cutting. We are the experts in 5-Axis laser cutting!
